Dear Linguistics Concentrators and SLP Minors at CSI!
READ THIS PAGE FIRST.
READ IT THOROUGHLY.
Every semester, CSI puts a hold on your registration for the following semester, which only a Linguistics advisor can remove. This is to encourage you to come to us for advice, regarding which courses you should register for.
We are pleased to advise you on these and other matters!
In order to most effectively advise you, we ask that before making an appointment with us, you read each tab above, in order to carefully prepare your own registration plan.
- The Linguistics Concentration tab tells you exactly what you need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for a concentration in Linguistics
- The SLP Minor tab tells you exactly what you need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for the SLP Minor
- The SLP Master’s tab tells you exactly what you need to take in order to increase your chances of getting into a Master’s program in SLP
- The Minor in Computational Linguistics tab tells you what you need to take in order to fulfill the requirements for the Comp Ling minor
- The Minor in Linguistics tab tells you what you need to take in order to minor in Linguistics
- The Fall 2026 tab tells you the Schedule of Classes for LING for next semester.
Only once you have read through all of these materials may you contact your advisor for an appointment to have your hold on your registration removed. In your email to your advisor, you must explicitly state the following:
-
what is your EmplID and what are all your Majors/Minors, and
-
what you plan on taking and why, and
-
how many more LING classes you need in order to graduate (and which ones), once that plan is realized
All best from your LING advisors, Jason Bishop, Lorenza Colonna, Christina Hagedorn, Lei Liu, and Christina Tortora
